This film is atrociously bad. It's not bad in the funny way where you're able to poke fun at certain moments, it's entirely bad. I can say with clear confidence that Animal is and will probably always be the worst film I've ever seen. It promotes terrible ideologies like hegemonic masculinity and toxic relationships. Take for example Ranvijay and Geetanjali, they are extremely toxic and he is completely disrespectful towards her. He acts as though he owns her, for instance, she threatens to sleep with another man to "even the playing field" so to say due to her husband's infidelity with another woman and he shuts her down and basically says she is never allowed to. He additionally tells her not to marry someone else in the event of him passing away. He is a hypocrite who looks up to his father and vows not to be as neglectful like him but in turn becomes the very same thing to his own children. The glorification of the abusiveness between the characters is distasteful and can be hurtful to those who may have experienced abuse from a partner. Additionally the impressionability of viewers due to the demographic for this film being young males is severe and should've been taken into account when showcasing the main character as a sort of hero by his impressive ability in physical combat. The run time of this film was not needed and the support of the film is disheartening to see. To sum up the whole film in one word I would say unnecessary. Please save your money or donate it to helpful causes rather than spending it on this atrocious film.
