Joseph Hanson

Been a huge fan of this guy for yeeeears(long before his deal with Netflix) and I've been waiting for a new Netflix special since seeing him live on his Moist tour last year. Didn't disappoint! This Is Me Now was a little hit and miss but I loved Intolerant and Moist was simply great. It was nice to see that he used most of his material from that tour for this special. If you liked Intolerant you'll like this one.

Not sure why critics are beating up on this movie. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The acting was horrible and it was the same tired Marvel formula, but the setting was a lot of fun, Kang is quickly turning into a strong villain for the franchise, and generally speaking I had a lot of fun with this one. The MCU has truly sucked lately. While this one wasn't GREAT, it was waaaaay better than the last five or six movies they've put out post-Endgame.

I really wanted to like this movie. Overall, it's *okay*. First hour draaaaaaaags as it sets the hook and establishes the world the characters exist in. Very slow pacing compared to the high octane nature of previous films. Picks up in the second act and gets fun but a little nonsensical in some areas. Final fight was a letdown and more idiotic than clever. Most characters don't matter and exist almost exclusively to add to the body count. Main character was a little whatever but not terrible. Liked her brother more. The Predator was definitely an interesting redesign. I appreciated that he wasn't just an unstoppable unbeatable killing machine and was moreso a creature with outrageous ferocity and no quit in him. He gets pushed to his limit more than once, which was a nice change. Backdrop was beautiful and the score was distinct, which I appreciated. Definitely a better entry into the franchise than other films but that's not saying much with such a low bar to clear. Predators was better but it was definitely better than The Predator. Best to worst: Predator Predators Predator 2 Prey The others don't count :-P
