Sci-fi and fantasy movies/shows have always been sources of media designed to help you forget the stressors of the real world and submerge yourself in something completely different. Disney has now ruined quite possibly the most notorious and universally loved sci-fi series by turning it into a woke vanity project that is in no way true to its source material. Want to complain about how Disney is changing Star Wars? Well, producer Kathleen Kennedy is here to tell you about how you’re a sexist and racist pig. Then since the main character is a strong black female and there is a woodland creature who emphasizes the importance of pronouns, she can get away with it. You know a show that has two strong female leads, challenges sexuality norms, tests boundaries, and is also universally loved? House of Dragon. Why? Because it emphasizes good storytelling and it stays true to its source material. As opposed to leaning on woke ideology to push personal agendas and then use it once again to justify bad rating when the project inevitably tanks. It’s just sad that people now use woke ideology to discredit viewers who are simply upset that Star Wars no longer feels like Star Wars.
