a bunch of my friends and i went to watch this movie in the theatres yesterday. and, we had SO MUCH FUN! (this is coming from someone who has watched the 2004 version about 8 times!!!) summary: the singing was ON POINT, the characters were great and overall the whole movie was such a vibe! cady: i really liked how she portrayed the innocence and new girl vibe that we saw in lohan's version. however, the song she was singing about Aaron was a little bit cringey and the expressions were a bit iffy. i thought she was a great character but could improve a bit on the singing aspect as she was a little drowned out by the fierceness and powerful voices of renee and auli'i. regina: she looked GORG the whole movie. me and my friends had our jaws OPEN when she was singing world burn. my god she had chills going down our spines she has a set of pipes and they were giving. i do think her acting was overly exaggerated though and i would have appreciated if they made regina go to cady's party and quickly come up with the idea to put her name in the burn book over gradually doing it in her house with the song. gretchen: there isn't too much to say about her. i really enjoyed her character though, she was sweet to her friends, loyal and a follower of reginas, and just the right amount of mean to everyone else. she is a decent singer and actress though but i didn't see her much throughout the movie. karen: AHHH I LOVED HER CHARACTER IT WAS SO SWEET AND WHOLESOME AND AT THE SAME TIME PORTRAYED THE INNOCENCE AND STUPIDITY OF THE CHARACTER!!! also the girl can sing. sexy was such a fun musical number and we were vibing the whole time. I've seen clips from the musical and i loved how she added that extra oomph to the character. and also the "donut worry you are still my freeend" was so sweeettt. janis: this girl can sinngggg! i know she was moana but i really liked the new twist she added to janis. however, i think the backstory about her and regina not liking each other anymore was a little bit complicated....i feel like they could've definitely simplified that. damian: he sang well, he made me laugh out loud many times, the i-carly thing was funny (but idk why it was in black and white lol) aaron: frankly i thought he was a bit stiff and boring. didn't hear him sing so didn't see much about that. he wasn't bad per say as a character though. kevin g: i know he is just a supporting character but i had to write something about him! although kevin gnapoor will always be my favourite i thought the new character was so funny and the rap was on point - i did really like how they still incorporated him but idk why they changed his name to ganatra....? anyways that doesn't really matter. OVERALL MUST WATCH IF YOU ARE A FAN OF MUSICALS AND IT WAS SUCH A FUN MOVIE AND EVERYONE IN THE THEATRES WAS LAUGHING OUT LOUD! a free cookie if you read all this :D
