Ling

This version is so insulting to the amazing book that it is based on. It is not a faithful rendition of the novel. Bigwig, one my my favourite characters, is treated so poorly in this version. Clover is not Hazel’s love interest, she isn’t even that important in the novel. Efrafa was so much more dense, intriguing and terrifying than what this animation presented. I am horrified by what they’ve done here. The magic that the book created is definitely ignored in this animated version. I am so sad and disappointed because I was so looking forward to this when I first heard that it was in production. The filmmakers did not understand what is most important in the book, that is, it created a sense of the rabbit world with all it’s myths, it’s trickery...that’s how they survive. This is basically a hollywoodish version that has simplified everything and filled it with silly “love” connections that never happened in the book. Ugh!
