Let me get the negative stuff out of the way first; it rides off nostalgia FAR TOO MUCH! But I don’t care!
As a kid who had a Ghostbusters phase and would tape a pillow to her back and use a broom handle and pretend it was a proton pack, I loved this movie! It was the long awaited sequel to the first two movies we needed (especially after how disappointed I was with the all female reboot. I still give the director of that one A for effort.)
It was great to see Bill, Ernie, and Dan back to reprise their roles, and whoever they got to place as Egon in this one did wonderful, I thought it was CGI at first but NO! That’s an actual person!
When watching this for the first time in theaters, I could barley contain my excitement when I first heard the old Ecto-1 siren start up, I used to run around my house imitating it because it made me happy!
Ivan Reitman and his son James have made a movie that fans young and old can enjoy; a movie that ties up all loose ends; a movie about how change can lead to big adventures; a movie for everyone who has ever wanted to be a ghostbuster. Thank you
And to the people who gave this a one star review and said, “The directors obviously didn’t know what they were doing,” you are aware that Ivan Reitman was a big contributor to the first two movies, right? Pretty sure he and his son James know what they are doing. Sure we don’t get to see the original guys until the climax but that is what made the movie worth sitting through; because you get excited for it and it helps you better enjoy the movie. It’s called patience and it is helpful when you watch a movie.
