Promising, creative premise that gets self-indulgent and kooky near the end. No internal logic of the film. Maybe a cult classic tho! Performance (or perhaps writing) is cliché with Washington delivering terrible lines throughout such as yelping out "I'm undercover!"...in order to reveal he is in fact working undercover 🥸 🤣. Excellent performance by the child. Other obvious lapses in logic: going downriver from the muddy ricefields of southeast "New Asia" to......the snow capped mountains? Nirmata inventing the first AI that can age but seeing touching scenes of elderly robots throughout? So...they custom made grandmotherly frail robots? Also see: two hour us run time (=indulgent); superflous serpent-armed attacking robot; dragging Mother's body through the inexplicable field of green on the warship despite the bomb countdown.... etc. I still liked it? Three stars.
