I've been a Dune fan since the 80's, having read practically every book. I was was hoping for a good remake since the first fiasco with Sting and company. Part 1 was done very well bringing everything together, though, Fyed should have also been introduced then rather than near the end. This version didn't follow the book in many aspects, with way too much drama between Paul and Chani. She approved of what Paul did to avoid further bloodshed. The three part mini-series, made around 2k, was far superior. Watch that as it does represent the book well in all aspects, including the political side.
