Terrible writing, slow paced, generic fantasy, forced storylines, shallow unlikeable characters, and worst of all, using the Tolkien name to bolster and appeal to its fan base only to smother and degrade the authors creation. Amazon wants to force this vision of a more inclusive and modern environment within this world and in doing so it’s massacred fan favorite characters and added unnecessary ones to the mix. Galadriel is probably the most hated character in the show because of her intolerable attitude. The writer’s completely disregarded Tolkiens characterization of her and basically just made her into a generic “stick it to the man” warrior, a far cry from how she’s originally portrayed. It completely demeans Tolkiens writing because even through she is supposed to be one of the most powerful and crucial elves in middle earth, the show writers force her to pick up a sword and armor which apparently means now she can really be a role model for women. Really that’s insulting. And then the writers added in whoever Isildurs sister is (totally made up character, also wish there wasn’t a million character names i had to memorize) and just made her into this weird middle man character that really looks like she has no meaning other than to sit there looking pretty and create some sort of romantic storyline.
