Directed by Max Iowe, son of the world-famous mountaineer who was killed in a deadly avalanche in 1999, Alex Iowe, "Torn" is a beautiful and moving documentary. It succintly captures the grappling effects of losing a loved one, and the struggle to move on while holding onto their memories. To live a life with the memories of a loved one whose life was cut short too soon, and to pay homage to not only the dead, but the living too. This movie is a means of catharsis for Max, son of Alex Iowe, and Conrad, best friend of Alex and the survivor of 1999 avalanche, who later became a vital member of Iowe's family. Keep a bag of tissues with you, and watch this emotional piece. Definitely recommend it!
