A lot of the low reviews are from people who didn't finish the show. The second half of the series includes everything you'd expect from your standard Gundam series. The romance people are complaining about is practically non-existent and is just a plot point used for more political means. While you may not like the school setting, I assure you this show is more than it shows in the earlier episodes
