It produces the same emotions you have when waking from a horrible, uncomfortable dream. The kind that makes you turn the light on and read a bit before falling asleep again. Makes you feel extremely violated, abandoned, and fearful. The end was plain evil. I don't know about you, but I don't want to experience any of those same emotions again any time soon. I’ll stick to living in the light and away from the darkness thank you very much!

The kids got what they asked for when they said “let me in”. From my viewpoint there was nothing more frightening and painful than Mia’s grief and confusion regarding her mother. I liked this movie because it wasn't only about scary visuals. It made me realize that when evil is let in (intentionally or unintentionally), it can mess with someone psychologically which can be the death of them. I think this movie had different levels to it. The parties with the haunted hand was just the tip of the iceberg. I really liked it!

This film may only be for some. The style may be an acquired taste. It is dark, void of color, eerie throughout most of the movie, and desolate at the end as they close the case. I use the word desolate due to the case suddenly being closed, the friendship between Mark and Peter is over (or never was due to Mark having a hidden agenda), and the emotion completely shifts. It was very effective. The tears Mark cries at the end while he walks through the woods, accompanied by the lonely music, is emotionally effective. I loved this movie; it was beautiful.
