The story of the girl who desires to be whoever she's created to be and form deep relationships is something many can relate to and beautiful in many ways. The underlying ideas of it is okay to use children as killers as long as they don't have any known familial connections and try to brainwash them to not give into the natural tendency to form attachment or feel empathy or compassion to suit some "higher" purpose as long as it's on the "right side" is tantamount to child abuse and destroys lives. We see what some of the results are in the character of Knox. Also, the other idea of a grown man seeking out the attention of an underage student is another idea thrown out there without any evidence of all the repercussions that it causes. Is this film okaying pedophilia? Would it be equally accepted if this man was seeking to seduce and form a relationship with a young girl? What if it was a woman teacher seeking to get the attention of a young boy? This teacher is supposed to be a safe authority figure and it seems very confusing that any teacher should have any motive to interact with a student other than purely professional. There seems to be some underlying agenda that needs to be addressed and is definitely not a movie for children. The action and fighting were really cool but I couldn't give it more than 1 star because of the other topics thrown in.
