A fantastically good game. Have never played any of the other games from this studio and had a preconceived opinion about them just based on others' comments, and I find that I misunderstood the core concept in a way that's hard to explain. I had this assumption that when folks talked about trying to get a boss 30+ times then they meant just sitting there and trying over and over in one sitting, which sounds like a terrible time. But what it means in practice is that you try 1-3 times, can't beat them, and go off to do other things for awhile while you level up a bit and, more importantly, learn how the game works. You try a couple times every few days And then, all of a sudden, it's like you have an epiphany and it all makes sense and you beat the boss. And you REMEMBER that struggle and triumph! I could tell you about every single moment of every win I've had and that's what makes this game special, you remember it all instead of it just being a mush of "playing video games" memories. This game makes you be present, in the moment.
I can't give this game enough stars, and if you're just starting: please, be patient, you'll git good, I promise.
