I saw the movie the theater, in '16, and have seen it on TV a couple of times. What grabs me is the premise, the impossible situation Jim finds himself in, the dilemma posed by such a situation. You wake up and you're 90 years away from where you're supposed to be, no way to go back into hibernation, and on and on. A dilemma for the ages! That said, I found myself very ambivalent about what Jim did: waking Aurora (without her consent, of course). And ambivalent is my being kind. I could understand Aurora's decision to never, ever forgive him; I could endorse that decision. And yet, the "happy ending" was somewhat satisfying.
