You have to love this movie if you're a horseplayer...or even if you're not. I became aware of it ten or twelve years ago, bought the DVD and have viewed the film quite a few times (including today, as a matter of fact, which is why I checked it out on Rotten Tomatoes). Already looking forward to the next time I view it. At the track, I'm always hoping for that day when I can parrot the Dreyfuss character by reporting: "I'm having a very [or is it "really?"] good day."

I saw the movie the theater, in '16, and have seen it on TV a couple of times. What grabs me is the premise, the impossible situation Jim finds himself in, the dilemma posed by such a situation. You wake up and you're 90 years away from where you're supposed to be, no way to go back into hibernation, and on and on. A dilemma for the ages! That said, I found myself very ambivalent about what Jim did: waking Aurora (without her consent, of course). And ambivalent is my being kind. I could understand Aurora's decision to never, ever forgive him; I could endorse that decision. And yet, the "happy ending" was somewhat satisfying.
