An overall light-heated, funny and entertaining yet predicable family romp. Not memorable, but fun to watch. Recommended if you're a sonic fan but does not alienate fantasy fans. The main highlights was to watch Jim Carrey, back to his energetic and hilarious form. There are a few illogical scenes and inconsistencies that was not explained, like why did Sonic not just read a map to get to San Francisco, why did the customers at the bar not freak out to see a Blue Alien, why can't Sonic just run up the building to get his coins, why did the government not pursue Sonic after Dr Robotnik disappeared, how did Tom clear his name after being fugitive and more, but such details noticed by adults will be overlooked by kids, which is the target audience.

I loved it! Weird and wonderful, laugh-out loud ridiculous, very entertaining and captivating with may weird twists. It felt like an allegory about the society's obsession about beauty. My conclusion is that beauty is only skin-deep, what really counts is your actions and that's what you will be judged on in the end.

Slow burner of a thriller with shocking, brutal and gory end. Entertaining but over the top and unnecessary violence.
