I love the idea of what the movie was going for but it fell a little flat. Despite the 2 year delay (the movie was supposed to come out 2018) I thought it would be better but unfortunately not. It felt way to fast. Like they'll show one person's trauma and just move on to the next. In Marvel fashion they leave unanswered questions obviously to lead to a sequel but they leave questions that should be answered within the movies timeframe. No delving into the character what so ever even though they had such a diverse cast of actors and characters. With Disney now owning Fox well probably never see any more development into these characters which is such a shame cause I would watch a entire movie on just Anya Taylor Joy's character, Magik.

That was mind bending. The tiny details of the world he built are just insane. It's a movie you have to watch again like Inception in order to fully grasp the complexity of the idea that is inversion. The only problem is that the beginning just hits the ground running and it feels way to fast. Like the pace for the first 20 minutes or so is not a brisk walk, it's a full sprint. It felt like someone was explaining something really quickly cause they're in a rush. But the action and score was dope as hell. We're any of you able to hear me though!?

The concept is simple enough but other films have done it better. I can't tell if it's trying to be artistic and realistic at the same time or if it's just supposed to be odd on purpose. What the theme or message is? I wouldn't be able to tell you cause it seems like it has layers but to me those layers feel empty. Maybe it's about trauma or brutality or innocence but I can't tell since it pulls all its punches and never actually does anything with only the few frames of trauma it shows or the character beating people with a hammer. I'm all for ambiguity but like there's way too many questions on such simple things like (spoilers ahead): what's up with his dad? What's up with his mom? What's up with the FBI backstory? Why does he have a thing for suffocating himself? What's with the numbers and why does the girl do the same thing? Why does he have these moments of altered reality for no reason? From what I've read it's not supposed to be understood which is Lynne Ramsay's style but this was Only God Forgives level "what's the point" stuff which is why I didn't like Only God Forgives. I still disagree with the high reviews even if "I don't get it" cause I'm a high proponent of the ambiguous films.

The smartest guy in this whole thing is the bartender. This one focuses more on the outside of the festival, on Billy McFarland and some of the things before it unlike the Netflix documentary. I think the Netflix one did a better job at sucking you in cause it just kept getting worse and worse where this one is ran like a traditional documentary going somewhat with the timeline but more on the social media aspect and the fraud it's self. That FyreFraud journalist is hilarious though, what a madlad, poor guy. Also even though this one actually has Billy interviewed for it he's absolutely useless because all he does is say lies which he gets caught in.

Wow I love Jessica Chastain, but she couldn't even save this dumpster fire. It's so generic, basic, unoriginal, and uninspired. The characters are so insufferable and annoying to listen to while the conflict between them is so forced. They all make absolutely stupid decisions without any reasoning at all. The actors can't save the plot cause the acting is horrendous with no direction. Also the CGI, my God the CGI is unbearable to look at. It also doesn't help that they pulled a Mile 22 and just shoved the main character's back story into an ADHD slide show montage during the opening credits. And the soundtrack sounds like they ripped off the Black Ops 2 multi-player menu music and put it on repeat for the entire movie. But screw the ending of this movie like how dare they think they could leave it open for a sequel. If you want to know the whole story but don't want to waste 96 minutes of your life, just watch the trailer cause it just tells you the whole thing there; not that its any better. By the way, the poster is misleading cause Common never even picks up a gun, there's no SWAT team, helicopters, or a car chase ever seen in the movie.

Loved it. I personally felt the ending was a bit convoluted but everything was great. It wasn't as good as the first one, but it was entertaining, but a second semi good DC movie? How wild is that? One thing, are we going to gloss over the fact she kind of just had this random dudes body the whole time while Chris Pine was living in it rent free? There were a few moments though where it was cool as hell especially in Dolby. But wait when was Kristen Wiig in Cats?

Aaron Sorkin is a great writer and this movie highlights his quick conversations and quirkiness of characters. Having so many characters and showing each of their messages and bot feeling lost is great. However, it's greatest asset is its greatest problem. While writer Aaron Sorkin is great, director Aaron Sorkin is meh. It's hard to explain, but it feels like something is missing but you can't quite tell what it is.

Fences was the last August Wilson play and was phenomenal with Viola Davis' performance. The movie might be called Ma Rainey, but Chadwick Boseman really just goes all at it and steals the whole thing. I forgot this was based off a play at first so it starts off really weird, but once I remembered that factoid the rest of it made sense. The main thing about this movie is the acting and it's no wonder it was nominated for those categories cause damn they did a good job. However the rest is plain story telling and doesn't get too fancy in that regard.
