I feel author amish took a brave step in moulding this ramayan series in the background of audience majority of whom grew up hearing the epic over and over.
I admire his efforts to humanise the characters with all complex emotions and their constant struggle to rise above them to channelise their nobility or how some gets drowned in evil with all the adversities they faced. It connects much more because i have always felt that we to some extent attribute
their nobility to their divinity or their wickedness to being a demon as far as ravan is concerned in the epic.
Also he offered a whole character sketch of sita and ravan as well which was a whole new experience. I haven't read the 4th part yet. But for someone willing to have a fresh perspective this series is worth it.
