As a Varun and Madhuri fan, I had really high hopes from Kalank. I wanted to love this movie, but it pains me to say that its pretty much forgettable! The length is far too long and its stretched with unnecessary screenplay time. The story is unrealistic, weak and poorly written! In my opinion the writers have insulted the audiences intelligence by the silly flashbacks, the lack of thought put into the script. The sets were artificial and you could clearly see where the producers had prioritised the budget! They should've spent more on the script writing. The movie actually seemed dull and sadly no light hearted comedy either to lighten the mood! Acting wise, Sanjay was okay as was Sonakshi. Aditya did well. Allia didn't convince me as Roop. Madhuri was way over the top! Her character and persona was confusing at times. Her dancing was good as usual but her song at the end had no sense in the movie.. the saving grace was Varun. He carried the entire movie on his shoulders. The songs were amazing too. I would rate the movie 1.5 stars. 1 star for the only star of the movie Varun. And half a star for the music... personally its not a movie I'd watch again. Like I said earlier, I tried so hard to like Kalank!

An interesting concept, ahead of its time. However the songs, costumes and poor and predictable attempt at throwing comedy into this already confusing mix, just made it harder to watch. The ending was disappointing. I struggle to support a movie which romanticizes the art of betrayal and infidelity. What was the director thinking when making this movie? Some people will watch anything as long as the cast is strong and songs are catchy
