This is an amazing film that combines the human interest of the mill as well as the mechanics of the mill and using it to make or fix things. It is an insight into the relationships that the mill owner, Ben, has with his customers and neighbors. I don't want to say that Ben is a symbol of the past because we have many smart entrepreneurs in this country today. Ben's work with his water powered mill, using machines developed over many years, is a window to the time when people were much closer to the land and used every available resource as efficiently as possible. I have actually visited the mill and seen how, even today in real life, it is as if Ben went home for lunch and will walk in the door any minute. Thank you to the filmmakers and to the stewards today who preserve the mill.
