I personally really enjoyed it and have seen the criticism and don't believe its justified most only really taking it at face value not even mentioning the undertones of the show or the running theme which is told through the words spoken to her by one of galadriels brothers. after all no adaptation is 100% copy of the books or movies and I can't wait to see how the characters progress and the story evolves through the next seasons and I also liked the connections they maintained to the lord of the rings trilogy. Also I think its worth noting that they don't have the rights to the silmarillion which is why you have some of the lore being adapted and even though Jeff bezos tried to place his own input into the series the writers were steadfast in maintaining there version of events.
