Some of you are clearly reading too much into the plot. It is meant to be a SATIRE and to say that the show had bad writing is just absurd.
The acting was great and it was clearly meant to reiterate the absurdity of the show by making it seem all serious.
The line she repeats in the hospital when they asked her how she was feeling was GOLD and intentional.
And the countless casserole dishes... it just gets funnier.
