After 2 listens this is my review, so it may well change over time!
For me, the album branches across all areas of LP whilst sounding modern and relevant. Sonically, i feel it centres in the MtM era, retains an element of the hip hop vibe that Meteora championed, and blends the electronic like Living Things. About 75% of the album is amazing, but the biggest criticism would be the tracks all tend to be quite short. This is probably intended to keep the casual listener engaged, but I guess what I'm saying is that I just want more! More specifically, "Casualty" seems quite forced (like "War" on The Hunting Party), wheras IGYEIH is structured much better and treads more boldly. "Overflow", "Stained" and "Good Things Go" are all great but feel like theyre missing the third act - all could have benefitted from what LP learnt from Thousand Sun's. Cut The Bridge has clear "Bleed It Out" vibes but without quite as much much bite, so serves more as a conduit connecting the tracks it is inbetween.
All of the released Singles are excellent and I'd like to see either IGYEIH or Good Things Go as the next single.
