I’m giving this a high rating because it’s actually a great movie. It’s fun, got loads of action and it’s got a load of cats in it. Why the general bad reception? Pretty straight forward, it wasn’t marketed well due to the strikes at the time and it is in the unfortunate wake of a lot of Super hero film fatigue. Basically Marvel made a mistake after End Game. They should have given everyone a breather before firing more content. The only thing going against the film is captain marvel is missing a kryptonite type flaw. Unlike Superman nobody can make a dent. She needs a vulnerability that bad guys can exploit to keep audiences in the edge of their seats (The best super hero movies are where the hero gets close death or actually dies)
