Watchmen was the first comic-book / graphic-novel to be on the New York Times Best Seller list.
Many reasons to this. The main story was unique and capturing. Meanwhile, there were several branches to other stories going on at the same time. Add the fact that they were excellent in installing a media-within-media story telling.
The show does exactly that!
It brings in all the best parts of the comic to the show.
And I don't think you have to have any education or knowledge on the comic. Though I highly reccomend it too if you're into in-depth story telling.
Give episode 1 a try.
2 was just as great.
3 was a bit crazy and I'd be shocked if it didn't turn off some people, but what amazing show doesn't have a wacky or bad episode? I wouldn't say it's bad thought. It's just wacky.
4 turned it back up a notch.
5 was ridiculous and prob best episode so far
I'm addicted
