I enjoyed the film. But I feel like it missed on some actuality for the culture. A lot of the film felt like someone did a quick Google search of viking life. I enjoyed the encorperation of the Ulfhednar which was a less known subject. But there were definitely a few points when western beliefs kind of blead through which could be a possiblity depending on the time frame which we are never quite told. It's so hard to build a movie on a belief system especially one that tends to stay out of the lime light in modern times. I think this movie stole some of the power and importance women held in the culture we should remember there are just as many important female gods as male to presume a male holds a more "important" role is a very "big three" belief. I also feel it put a huge dependence on slaves which the Vikings did take but weren't relied on to the point a farmer would be outnumbered or rely on them to survive. You know, who really does, I wasn't alive at that time all I draw is the fact I can trace my family directly back. I've been drawn to the culture and beliefs because they hold a humility few others do.so the movie was entertaining and well done but never fully believe what you see.
