The first two episodes were phenomenal but after that I started to see the holes and by episode 6 it became cringe. I had to turn it off midway because I could see the train wreck coming and I couldn’t believe the main character would be so incredibly stupid. I will not give it away but It’s not a naïveté that one can understand, it’s just stupid.
She is not as alone as she thinks, she has help and then she throws it away. The character is written to be one dimensional and by episode 4 and 5, I honestly felt the show moved to a possible horror genre. It was a weird detour. I don’t understand her job choices either, she wasn’t illegal, she can speak English fluently, she is young, has a GED, has only one child, has previous waitressing experience based on the flash backs and this is not even factoring that she is Caucasian yet she chooses to be an underpaid maid? What about fast food, retail, actual waitressing, surely they have more earning potential?
Regina’s friendship is not relatable to anyone, a wealthy woman who treats you like a servant. There had zero chemistry and not enough foundation to support Regina even giving Alex (the main character) a job after her first offense. This woman is an attorney she would have taken action.
This wasn’t as thrilling as I would have hoped.
