It took me more than 2 decades before I finally watched this movie because I was just a teenager when this movie first came out. It's really a good movie, underrated one to be honest. This movie hit me really hard. I was crying, angry and traumatized. That's just how good it is. I can still feel the pain that Ligaya went through. She's just caught up in a pretty series of unfortunate events. I really do hope that they leave the movie as it is and not make any sequel or remake to not mess things up.
