Much as in life, this story about dark forces conspiring to consume you, begins as an idyllic, bright and warm safe haven.
What the children perceive to be love, is merely the quality assurance manager's competence displayed in the end product.
Though these children are demon food, if we just removed demons from the premise, it would be a perfect allegory for American capitalism. However, in this show, some of the people actually do not wind up becoming prey. In that respect, and only that respect, does it break with the moral of the story. Which is, your fate is sealed from birth in a society that cares nothing for you, as a person, but only for what it can take from you.
Highly recommend.
