At first, I nearly stopped reading. I wasn't in love with it. Truth be told, I wasn't overly enjoying it. But I persevered, because I hate starting and not finishing a book. Within 50 pages I was in love with it.
I haven't read Cronin's prior work. To be honest, what draw me to this was the cover. I saw it in a bookstore and it looked beautiful so I thought I'd give it a try.
By the end of the book I was so utterly mesmerised by it that I'm now going to go back and read his Passage Trilogy.
An absolutely heart-breaking, beautiful, sometimes bleak journey into the human mind and the cosmos.
