This game has been a pretty massive disappointment. To start, I will say that I have only really played to road to glory game mode as QB so everything i say will be from there. Issue 1. Graphics & animations, why does a game released in 2024 look so weird? Animations are constantly reused and hardly work correctly. Half the time in the pre-show your player is LITERALLY RUNNING OUT WITH THE OPPOSING TEAM. When you compare the graphics and animations to MLB The Show you cant help but laugh at how much better The Show is. Issue 2. Automatic play calling and forcing you off the field, I like the concept of being given a play call by the coach and listening to them. But the play calling is so inconsistent and nonsensical that it destroys your immersion. 3rd & 20 and my 3 options are all a variation of inside zone :/ and with 2 minute warning if you don’t immediately get the first down the coach literally gives up and only recommends run and you just have to hope that your AI RB makes the play. Another issue is out of nowhere at very random times (and ive heard this about all positions in RTG) your player will get subbed and sometimes even benched for the whole season, regardless of if you are having a heisman year and your player is a 99ovr and the backup is a 61ovr. Issue 3. AI difficulty spike, why is the difference from the easiest difficulty to the second easiest difficulty SO INSANELY DRASTIC?! I initially played on the easiest difficulty but was destroying teams like Michigan and Alabama by 60 as Vanderbilt. So I bump it up 1 difficulty to have some competition and i literally cant get a pass off. Granted this could 100% be a skill issue but im hearing everyone complain about this. Also, once i finally started getting the hang of it there are some games that im CONVINCED that youre FORCED to lose no matter how hard you try. Like wide open receivers dropping perfect passes, your AI RB will be incapable of making past the line of scrimmage, and the defense simulation will let the opposing team get 500 yds and 7 TDs. Issue 4. THE F*CKING O-LINE, WHY DOES EVERY OLINE NOT HAVE ANY ABILITY TO BLOCK!!! YOU CAN LITERALLY HAVE A 99 AT EVERY OLINE POSITION AND YOU WILL HAVE MAXIMUM 3 SECONDS IN THE POCKET LIKE WTF!!!!! Issue 5. Greed, I just cant get over how bad EA and how little they try to hide that they couldnt care less about their games. I really wish EA would just go bankrupt or give the reigns of madden and NCAA to someone else. A dream that will never come true sadly. Now that im done with my rant I will sum everything up. This game for being so new feels old, broken, and unfinished. I suppose it’s better than nothing but definitely could’ve been incredible. Would recommend try a trial before purchasing. Update: I feel like i torture myself every time I play this game. The ONLY thing they fixed was the O-Line. After doing some research I found out that the game does in fact jump ratings around to force wins and losses. The only way to combat this is by playing easy difficulties which is SO lame. A new thing that I hate is the stupid looking animations that you CANNOT skip through. They see minutes long in some cases and you just have to sit there and watch over, and over, and over again. There are many things i hate about this game and like 2 things I enjoy.
