I wish I could leave zero stars. Many of my friends and I thoroughly enjoy playing battlefront 2 star fighter assault. We just wanted more maps. This seems to be the end result of asking for a purely piloting Star Wars game. I felt they did so much right in bf2 then added all sorts of nonsense to the squadrons controls. Technology is supposed to make like easier, yet this abomination adds all this extra nonsense ( like diverting power , Shield adjustment, and instead of the left trigger zoom a mess of options that are illogical and useless and are mapped to a trigger that you instinctively want to use to shoot). While adding some interesting feature ( such as full stop capability and new places to fly, the graphics are poor ( specifically the chunky aim crosshairs that looked like someone drew with a large magic marker) and not befitting a game coming out in a time where we are on the cusp of 8k gaming. The story mode is garbage. Targeting is atrocious. I just played the game for a few minutes and am already getting melted by other players who seem to already have much better weapons etc on the first day of the game being released. I understood there would be a learning curve but unfortunately that curve heads into a brick wall and then off a cliff. Bf 2 just needed a bigger star fighter assault platform. They took away some of the simple feature and made them so convoluted that I requested a refund after one hour of attempting to enjoy this horrible mess. Technology should make things easier— like self driving cars or automatic features. Yet this game is more difficult and not in a good way. Not challenging. Just plain bad. I don’t know who sat around thinking up this game but they failed miserably. Anyone who says they like this game is basically like a parent telling their child their artwork is good even though for some reason the school bus they drew has legs instead of wheels. It’s just not admitting how bad this is. It’s a sad time in tHe galaxy for sure. Btw to chaim-gartenberg who’s review on “the verge” said it was as good as flying a real star fighter... no one has ever flown a real star fighter so how the heck would you know? This is total trash —-a completely disappointed Star Wars fan.
