This is a woefully misguided miniseries. If you truly look into the crisis that has caused so many problems in this country you will find that prescribing is at a 30-year low yet overdoses are at a 30-year high. What is behind what happened over the past 30 years is an illicit drug problem. The only people that got addicted were people that had untreated trauma, untreated grief or untreated and undiagnosed mental illness. The people in the chronic pain community never became addicted because these tried and true medications actually worked. This mini-series just pushes a narrative that was pushed by the DEA, the DARE program and the terror group PROP that used financially backed incentives to make the American public think that it was a prescribing issue when it was never a prescribing issue. Very disappointing that further research was not put into this program. And I'm almost 100% sure that if I dug deep into the financial backing of this particular movie that somewhere in there would be PROP.
