I kind of think the problem with this show is the premise. Ironically, it's also what I like about it. Contestants are frequently criticized for creating something that doesn't taste like a dish they may not be familiar with, and while you could say they should know the world cuisines, I still think there's something strange about it. Still, it's a fun show, and you learn a lot about cooking around the world. In someways, the elimination rounds are the best part. The host is also not a good fit.

It seems kind of dumb to criticize a baking show competition but at least so far this show is disappointing. It’s rushed, it’s lacking in explanation, it’s lacking really in humor. Oh well like I said I’ve only just started watching. They turn out these food competition shows a dime a dozen and some aren’t going to be that great.
