A series of bad things happening to very unlikable characters. The book is slow and tedious but I stayed until the end to find out what happened to Burke, who was frankly, the only likeable character in the whole story.

I love the Morbid Podcast and was so excited when this book was released. Overall this was a quick, easy read. Characters lack depth and growth and parts of the book were frankly disturbing. My biggest complaint is I as the reader seemed to know more about the villan than the protagonist. Side characters, like Richard, felt two dimensional at best. Still, I am happy to support a new author and will probably read the next book.

I received this book for Christmas and was delighted to find it full of humor, baking wisdom, beautiful pictures and so many great recipes. I can't wait to step back in time and share yesterday's recipes with my young family.
