Reading all the one star reviews makes me lose hope in humanity. This film was phenomenal. Yes it’s nearly three hours long, and while it definitely feels like it, you aren’t bored for a single second. Yes, it juggles comedy and drama, but in the most perfectly balanced of ways. Yes, it has some expensive heavy hitting actors in it, but they obviously have earned their paychecks. This movie will have you on the edge of your seat one moment, laughing out loud the next, and fighting back tears the scene after that. Idk what kind of crack the people that gave this gem a one star was smoking before walking into the theater, but it must’ve been whack. I saw this with my three siblings. After arguing about movie of the year all the previous week (we’re all film buffs) when the credits rolled we all looked at one another and in unison agreed “film of the year”. That’s not to be said lightly when you think Sinners, Weapons, F1, Magazine Dreams and all the other great films that came out. This is peak cinema.
