Kristin Scott Thomas shows her range as an actress whereby she becomes desperate and driven that she’ll do anything for love. Her character is so real and believable that it’s hurts to watch her at times. She can’t find happiness with her husband and the wealthy lifestyle that they share. Instead she’s found everything she needs with someone who has almost nothing to offer her but love.

Bradley Cooper & Kate Blanchett are sensational in this noir classic. Both are at their finest in showing the worst side of human nature. The entire cast contains misfits and sleaze balls that could have crawled out from under some rocks. Willem De Foe is particularly slimy. Tyrone Power would be proud of this remake.
