Im an avid lover of the book and the first movie. I love Fantasia and I was excited about this movie but was upset at how many changes that were made. It did not follow the book at all. Not sure how they can get away with changing the book. Alice Walker did an amazing job. It didn’t need changes. Hated that it was a musical. I expected some songs but that movie wasn’t meant to be a musical. Again, the cast did an outstanding job with what they were given but it should not have been changed so much. There was nothing wrong with the original.
