Mandi is a very important film directed by a talented filmmaker who had a voice and a story to tell. Shabana Azmi ji was the most contributing and talented actress of indian film industry. The rest of the cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Neena Gupta, Smita Patil, Sony Razdan, Om Puri among others are praiseworthy. Sadly most filmmakers today won't see its artistic value.
Huge respect for Shyam Benegal ji.
