It was alright for eye candy and nostalgia. A little shorter than anticipated with a lot more action than story building or character development and plot line details.
There are a few plot holes indeed which left me with illogical conclusions, follow up questions, and no answers from the story itself.
ONE PLOT HOLE (no spoilers) - THIS ONE HAS BEEN BUGGING ME:
????? HOW, HOW, HOW can they explain Egon being so broke, poor and in debt for Ghostbusters Afterlife… while his Ghostbuster pal, Winston, is a successful billionaire who’s been funding paranormal research secretly the whole time in efforts to advance the Ghostbusters ?????
Did Winston just become a billionaire in like 2 years since Afterlife? (Supposedly only about 1 year or so in the movie itself). What? He couldn’t help his friend Egon with a few bucks?
I know it’s only Ghostbusters and will never be an Oscar winner …. But what do I love about the original two movies is that the characters felt more life like, less scripted, relatable, conversational, and overall have better connections together which makes for a cohesive story that ties the characters and plot line together. I guess they just don’t write them like they used to.
