It's pretty bloody awful. I don't usually care about graphics, but they are super sloppy in this game. The storyline is basically absent, but you're still plagued by slow text, unskippable cut scenes, and awfully 1 dimensional characters. An open world Pokémon game was a great idea, but this was a poorly executed game made by people who clearly don't care to make anything even remotely enjoyable. The only saving grace was the Pokémon and their animations, which my kids really enjoyed watching.
