This is an excellent movie that depicts the tragic and reckless denial that humans embrace when confronted by things they don't understand. I used to assign it as introduction to a scientific research course. It brings home in a simple way the painstaking steps of the scientific method. It also presents the ethical dilemmas brought by competition and politics within the scientific community. We are watching similar events unfold with the most recent pandemic, and with the disregard and procrastination on climate change. A must for anyone wishing to understand how we humans are our own worst enemy. Highly recommended!

Excellent script, strong and integrated acting, artistic cinematography enhanced by a subtle musical score. The director, Billie August, has achieved an emotionally realistic masterpiece and a work of art. I highly recommend this movie.
