Trump needs to also halt H1B visas as they hurt American workers. I have an IT colleague that was just let go last Friday and it was due to COVID-19. He sure does not need to compete with more H1B visa workers coming into America as he looks for another job. Over the years, I also have colleagues that were replaced with H1B visa workers. Companies lie and say they can't find IT workers to get the H1B visas. Then, they replace American IT workers with those coming in on H1B visas. The program hurts American IT workers. I have watched its impact on the IT field from a front seat and not afar as political pundits have and don't see the real impact.
