This hit very different as a woman in my mid-20s vs when I watched it in high school. I loved it then because it was so relaxing; but now, I can relate to how her memories kept flashing back to such a young but really pivotal time in her life. For her to have someone genuinely listen to her talk through those vulnerable moments AND still be romantically interested is rare and beautiful. If you watch through the credits, you’ll see she realizes where she is valued and loved (unlike in her childhood) Such great closure.

Spoilers 🚨 (I think…) The art was immaculate, hands down. I loved the colors. Everything looked like candy. But I think it would’ve been a great series, not a movie. I can tell the creators had a lot of scene ideas that they just couldn’t mesh together in 2 hours. I would’ve liked to learn more about Galo and Lio and see their relationship grow to the connection we saw at the end. It did feel rushed and the character conflicts felt magically resolved towards the end. I personally would still be extremely mad at my sister for being a main player in a genocide plot, even if she turned “good” at the end. And no one explained how the burners were doing after the ship failed. Everyone was just happy all of a sudden and the music played louder lol.

I love this show! Can't wait for more!
