This story had so much potential, I enjoyed the ending, I suspected Calvin was a killer but Grace/Avery was surprising. The falling in dead animals was original, but I was really disappointed with the “thriller” parts of this book. There was hardly any suspense at all, nothing holding me to the edge of my seat, flipping pages, reading and breathing fast, and wanting more. It seemed really rushed to get to the scene. I enjoyed the authors writing style and story line, but I am unimpressed with the thriller aspect. I like slight romance on the side of a suspenseful thriller, but majority of this book is romantic or has some drama of romance. The mountain lion attack felt so cheesy, no suspense and no emotions. There was hardly any tussle at all against Grace and Calvin towards the end before she was going to kill him. I was hoping for a thrilling fight with obstacles that had you rooting for Grace, but it was over as soon as it started. Also, why did we hear Bri scream once and then didn’t see her till the end? Thought we could have seen more odd behavior from that that led the reader to have more hints about the plot. The sex scene making Grace a cheater also kind of ruins the whole wanting to root for a killer. Overall, if this book was longer, less rushed, and more suspenseful, the story would make this book an excellent read. 8/10
