First of all, I am a huge fan of the original movie and was surprised to see the sequel coming out. I was anxious to see it and anticipated another masterpiece. But sadly it was not. It was visually enticing but was not up to the level to engage the viewers. The cast was strong but the storyline was lacklustre. Specifically Maximus having a son with Lucilla was outlandish and not plausible if you have seen the original one. If it was a stand alone movie, maybe it would be more acceptable but in association with the previous movie it has not been near the theatrical experience expected from it. And just sorry to say, Sharks!?! In coliseum?!? Really?!? smh…..
