Action scenes are scarce but good, but good is what u expect from a series set in the universe of john wick. but the fact that it is so rare is un acceptable, i mean the second episode which is a good hour and a half long almost, had 1 proper fight scene and it was mid at best. If fight scenes are not there to carry the show then the writing and characters absolutely NEED to be good to salvage it, but they are not. characters are making dumb decisions or have nonsensical motives or things are happening out of nowhere in desperate attempts to make their spontaneous actions make sense, it is filled with plot conveniences.
The villains are a none threat, literally the main villain and all of the side villains (aside of the twins which are painfully underused) fail to give any sort of tension, sense of threat or anything of that sort, the villains have been losing EVERY single instance they could lose. And i feel absolutely no connection between any of the main characters, i could careless about all of them.
John wick is not winning any awards for masterful story telling but thats not what ure there for, the movies usually are about 2 hours on average between the 4 movies and they absolutely stimulate you with jaw dropping action and aesthetics, the story is doing a good job at giving sensible excuses to bring these fights to you, each break between fights builds up to the next one. When you have a series you absolutely NEED a good and interesting story to keep the viewers invested, you cannot have fights every few minutes like john wick because ud overstimulate the viewers, so u need to balance it. Which the series has missed the mark PAINFULLY, aside of the first episode they made action scenes more scarce than a brontosaurus, and they hired crayon eaters to write the story and plot.
I do not recommend the series, its definitely not the worst series ive watched, far from it actually, but my tolerance towards bad series has reached a new low.
