Came into this movie knowing absolutely nothing and got my heart broken. Throughout this film, I felt like I got to know and understand Marc Andre. At first, I thought he was a bit insane and I almost couldn't believe what I was watching. One scene in the movie changed my mind about him (and quite frankly my brain chemistry); He's scaling the side of a mountain and says that there's a moment when it hits you, like "Oh man this is real" and you have to decide between having a freak out mental breakdown or keep going. From that point, I understood.
However, at the end of the movie, I couldn't believe that he had died. I kept thinking there was some insane magic way he survived, that they would see him laying in the snow at the base of the mountain, waiting for help to arrive.
One of the most profound, depressing, amazing, inspiring, and horrifying movies I've ever seen.
