I enjoyed it, compulsive reading in parts. My only complaint is the sense of disconnect between the hugely enjoyable 'Friends' quality of the bulk of the book and the focus on Evelyn and her high brow life in the arts. This spoiled the last chapter for me. I felt there were 2 books there.
