I thought this was right up there with some of my favorite Grisham stories. It was well written and had plenty of plot twists. The Widow was slower going in the front half but I think that was necessary in order to set up the second half. I think it would be very plausible to pick up the pieces and move on with a sequel following Simon Latch. I’d definitely read!

Too repititious and not one character I liked, except the dog.

Very disappointing read. It was basically a boring story filled with unlikely scenarios. Mitch would send Abby to barter with terrorists after watching videos of chainsaw massacres and hangings?! Characters were introduced, such as Giovanna’s mother, Anita, but then never mentioned again in the book. The same with Giovanna’s brother, Sergio, and her mother’s husband, Karlo. They were never interested in what was happening with Giovanna??? Way too many characters to keep track of and ones you could hardly care about. It was a long drawn out story with an unbelievably rapid ending. C’mon, Grisham, you’re better than The Exchange!

I was about ten years old when I developed an insatiable appetite for Carolyn Keene’s Nancy Drew stories. As an adult, I am drawn to Nora Robert’s books with the same anticipation of the “read”. That is an extreme compliment to Ms. Roberts. Her latest book, Identity, did not disappoint. In fact, I think it is one of her best stories yet. The characters were interesting, the plot well developed and it built to a satisfying crescendo. I had trouble putting the book down. It left me wishing I could continue following the lives of the Nash women and the Jameson family. It seems there is fodder there for continued plot development and adventure. Keep up the great writing, Nora Roberts. You don’t, over time, get lazy in your work like some other prolific writers of your genre. Kudos!
